Barracuda Ultralight Project 2 20” Wheel Set for Mustang 5, 6 & 7
The Barracuda Ultralight Project 2 combines a sporty multi-spoke design with a low wheel weight. In our Mustang setup, it is fitted in 9x20 ET40 on the front axle and 10.5x20 ET40 on the rear axle and is suitable for Ford Mustang 5, Mustang 6 and Mustang 7. We offer the Project 2 in two finishes: Silver Brushed and Gunmetal. The desired finish can be selected when ordering. The 9x20 front and 10.5x20 rear setup is a combination selected and proven by us for the Mustang. 5 mm wheel spacers are part of this setup on the front axle and are already included with the wheel set. BMR Adjustable Panhard Rod PHR006 for Mustang 2005–2014 – Black Hammertone
The BMR PHR006 adjustable Panhard Rod replaces the factory Panhard rod on the Ford Mustang S197 and allows the rear axle to be precisely centred laterally underneath the vehicle. An adjustable Panhard rod is particularly important on a lowered Mustang. Lowering the vehicle changes the suspension geometry, causing the fixed-length factory Panhard rod to shift the rear axle sideways from its original position. The BMR PHR006 allows this offset to be corrected and the axle to be properly centred underneath the body. Strongly recommended when lowering your Mustang When lowering springs or coilovers are installed on an S197 Mustang, the lateral position of the rear axle should also be checked. Even a relatively moderate reduction in ride height can result in the rear axle no longer sitting perfectly centred underneath the vehicle. This can become visible when one rear wheel sits further out in the wheel arch than the other. The effect can be particularly noticeable with wide wheel and tyre combinations. The PHR006 features an on-car centre adjuster, allowing the length of the Panhard rod to be changed while it is installed. This makes it possible to precisely centre the rear axle underneath the body. Stronger than the factory Panhard rod The factory Panhard rod uses a relatively simple stamped-steel construction with soft rubber bushings. Under high loads, both the factory rod and its bushings can deflect. BMR manufactures the PHR006 from 1.25-inch DOM steel tubing with a 0.120-inch wall thickness. It also features TIG-welded chrome-moly tube adapters and a heavy-duty CNC-machined centre adjuster manufactured from 4130 chrome-moly steel. 95-durometer polyurethane bushings BMR uses greasable 95-durometer polyurethane bushings at both mounting points. They provide less deflection under load than the softer factory rubber bushings, helping to locate the rear axle more precisely. The bushings feature internal lubrication flutes designed to distribute grease evenly around the inner sleeve and towards the outer thrust surfaces. BMR Driveshaft Safety Loop DSL010 for Mustang 2005–2010 – Black Hammertone
The BMR DSL010 Driveshaft Safety Loop is a heavy-duty safety restraint for the driveshaft of the 2005–2010 Ford Mustang. Installed around the front section of the driveshaft, it is designed to help contain the shaft in this area underneath the vehicle in the event of a failure. The Safety Loop does not alter the operation of the driveshaft. Its purpose is to provide an additional mechanical safeguard in the event that the driveshaft or one of its connections fails under high load. What does a Driveshaft Safety Loop do? As vehicle speed increases, driveshaft rotational speed also increases significantly. In the unlikely event that the driveshaft becomes disconnected or fails while driving, an uncontrolled rotating shaft underneath the vehicle can cause substantial damage to the floor and surrounding components. The BMR DSL010 surrounds the front section of the driveshaft. In the event of a failure, it is designed to help contain the shaft in this area underneath the vehicle and thereby reduce the risk of additional secondary damage. Particularly important for the Mustang 4.0 V6 Special attention should be paid to the factory driveshaft of the 2005–2010 Mustang 4.0 V6 if the factory speed limiter is removed. The original V6 driveshaft is not designed for sustained operation at significantly higher vehicle speeds. If the top-speed limiter of a 4.0 V6 is removed, we therefore strongly recommend considering not only the suitability of the driveshaft itself but also installing a Safety Loop as an additional safeguard. Important: A Safety Loop does not make a driveshaft that is unsuitable for high speeds safe for high-speed operation. It provides an additional safeguard for a worst-case failure and does not replace a suitable high-speed driveshaft where an upgrade is required. Useful additional protection for the Mustang GT The DSL010 also provides an additional mechanical safeguard for the 2005–2010 Mustang GT 4.6 V8. Particularly on modified vehicles or Mustangs that are regularly driven at high speeds, a Driveshaft Safety Loop can be a useful addition. Heavy-duty bolt-on construction The DSL010 is manufactured from 1/4-inch laser-cut and CNC-formed steel plate. Rather than attaching the loop directly to the transmission, BMR mounts it to the existing mounting points of the factory transmission crossmember. This allows the Safety Loop to remain attached to the vehicle independently of the transmission itself. Installation is completely bolt-on and requires no welding or fabrication. The required high-strength Grade 8 mounting hardware is included. BMR specifies an installation time of approximately one hour. The BMR DSL017 Driveshaft Safety Loop is a heavy-duty safety restraint for the Ford Mustang driveshaft. Installed around the front section of the driveshaft, it is designed to help contain the driveshaft in this area underneath the vehicle in the event of a failure. The Safety Loop does not alter the operation of the driveshaft and is not a suspension or performance modification. Its purpose is to provide an additional level of protection in the event that a driveshaft or its connection fails under high load. What does a Driveshaft Safety Loop do? At high vehicle speeds, the driveshaft rotates at correspondingly high speed. In the unlikely event that it becomes disconnected or fails while driving, an uncontrolled driveshaft underneath the vehicle can potentially cause significant secondary damage. The BMR Safety Loop surrounds the front section of the driveshaft. In the event of a failure, it is designed to help contain the driveshaft in this area underneath the vehicle and thereby reduce the risk of additional damage. Additional protection at high speeds For a Mustang that is regularly driven at high speeds, a Driveshaft Safety Loop can provide a useful additional mechanical safeguard. On 2015 and later Mustang models, the factory driveshafts are already designed for the higher vehicle speeds these models can achieve. The Safety Loop is therefore not a prerequisite for higher-speed driving on these vehicles, but it can be installed as an additional mechanical safety measure. Particularly relevant for 2011–2014 Mustangs On 2011–2014 Mustang models, this becomes particularly relevant when the factory speed limiter is removed. Especially on V6 models, it should be taken into account that the factory driveshaft was not designed for unrestricted increases in vehicle speed. A Safety Loop does not make an unsuitable driveshaft safe for higher speeds and does not replace any necessary driveshaft upgrade. It does, however, provide an additional safeguard for the worst-case scenario if the driveshaft or one of its connections should fail. Heavy-duty bolt-on construction The DSL017 is manufactured from 0.25-inch laser-cut steel plate and attaches to the factory transmission crossmember. Its fully bolt-on design requires no welding. BMR Lower Control Arms TCA019 for Mustang 2005–2014 – Polyurethane / Black Hammertone
The BMR TCA019 Lower Control Arms replace the factory rear lower control arms on the Ford Mustang S197. Their heavy-duty steel construction combined with greasable polyurethane bushings reduces control-arm and bushing deflection under high loads, providing more precise rear axle control. Particularly on high-performance and modified Mustangs, the rear control arms have to transfer considerable forces under acceleration. The factory stamped-steel arms and soft rubber bushings can deflect significantly under these loads. Schropp experience – particularly recommended for the GT500 Over the years, we have built and modified a large number of Mustang GT500s, giving us extensive experience with the suspension components used on these vehicles. Particularly on high-powered GT500s, the rear control arms and their bushings are components we pay close attention to. From our experience, worn or excessively compliant control-arm bushings can result in less precise rear axle location, with the vehicle becoming increasingly unsettled or imprecise during acceleration and load changes. The BMR TCA019 is therefore one of our preferred solutions when stable and durable rear axle control is required – particularly on modified GT500s, but equally on other S197 Mustang models. Polyurethane rather than a rigid motorsport joint We deliberately offer the version with polyurethane bushings. Solid or rod-end designs can provide an even more direct connection, but they can also transmit significantly more noise and vibration into the vehicle body. The greasable 95-durometer polyurethane bushings used in the TCA019 provide a good compromise: considerably less deflection than the soft factory rubber bushings without unnecessarily compromising the refinement of a predominantly road-driven Mustang with a rigid joint. Heavy-duty steel construction BMR manufactures the TCA019 from 1.25 × 2-inch boxed steel tubing. The assembly is TIG-welded and manufactured to the factory control-arm length, retaining the intended suspension geometry. The increased rigidity reduces control-arm deflection during hard acceleration and cornering loads. This allows the rear axle to be located more consistently and gives the vehicle a more repeatable response to throttle and steering inputs. Greasable polyurethane bushings The internally fluted polyurethane bushings are greasable. Their lubrication channels distribute grease around the inner sleeve and towards the outer thrust surfaces, allowing the bushings to remain properly lubricated. The Ford Racing M-8501-M52A High-Flow Water Pump is a useful upgrade for performance-driven Mustangs equipped with the 5.0L Coyote or 5.2L engine. Compared with the standard water pump, it provides up to 30% increased coolant flow, helping the cooling system cope with increased thermal loads. Reliable engine cooling becomes particularly important during prolonged high-load driving on the race track or spirited mountain-pass driving. This makes the upgraded water pump a worthwhile addition not only for modified Mustangs, but also for cars that regularly see demanding performance use. Race-track tested by Schropp We use this water pump ourselves in our 2003 Mustang track car with a Gen 2 Coyote swap. The improved cooling has proven itself during our own race-track use, including sessions at the Hockenheimring. For further optimisation of the cooling system, we recommend combining the pump with the Reische Performance Thermostat, part no. SW10433. Washable cotton filter The JLT filter uses a multi-layer cotton filter medium designed for high airflow while providing reliable filtration. The filter element is washable and reusable and can be used repeatedly when cleaned and maintained correctly. Important cleaning information This filter uses an oiled cotton filter medium. After cleaning and allowing the filter to dry completely, the filter element must be re-oiled using a suitable air filter oil. Suitable cleaning and maintenance products for oiled cotton air filters should be used.
