Schropp Custom Tune for Existing SCT X4 – Mustang 2005–2014

Already own an SCT X4 Flasher? You can order an individually created Schropp Custom Tune for your vehicle without purchasing another flasher.

The Custom Tune is created specifically for the respective vehicle configuration and supplied by email. It can be transferred to your existing SCT X4 using the SCT Device Updater and then programmed to the vehicle through the OBD-II port.

Before ordering: check the status of your SCT X4

If your SCT X4 is currently unmarried and not connected to a vehicle, we recommend updating the device to the current SCT software version before ordering. This allows required device and vehicle definitions to be updated before we create your Custom Tune.

If your SCT X4 is still connected to another vehicle or married, the device must first be unlocked. In this case, please order our SCT X4 Unlock Service before ordering the Custom Tune.

Schropp Custom Tune

Our Custom Tunes are intended for vehicles in factory configuration as well as vehicles with common standard modifications. The Custom Tune is individually created to match the engine, transmission, intake system, fuel and existing modifications.

The calibration is designed to provide improved throttle response and optimised power delivery. On vehicles with an automatic transmission, the transmission calibration is also adjusted to match the engine and transmission calibration to the vehicle configuration.

Vehicles with the factory intake as well as the selectable aftermarket intake systems are supported. If you select “Other – please specify”, we require the manufacturer and exact model of the installed intake system.

For extensive engine modifications or configurations that differ significantly from stock, please contact us before ordering so that we can confirm whether the required calibration can be covered by this product.

Additional Tune Options

Hotrod Sound – 5.0 V8 only:
If you select the Hotrod Sound option, you receive a second Tune File with Hotrod Sound in addition to the regular Schropp Custom Tune. This gives you both the normal Schropp calibration and the additional sound calibration.

Ford Performance Hot Rod Cams – 4.6 V8 3V only:
If your Mustang already has Ford Performance Hot Rod Cams installed, please select this option. The Schropp Custom Tune will then be calibrated specifically for the modified camshafts.

Information we need from you

Please use the “Vehicle Info” menu of your SCT X4 to obtain the vehicle information required to create your Custom Tune:

• Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
• ECU Strategy
• SCT X4 serial number
• engine-related vehicle modifications
• installed intake system
• selected fuel octane rating
• rear tyre size
• modified final drive ratio, if applicable

Using this information, we create the appropriate Schropp Custom Tune and send the Tune File to you by email.

Transferring the Custom Tune to the SCT X4

The free SCT Device Updater is required to transfer the Custom Tune to the SCT X4. The software runs exclusively on Windows, so a Windows laptop or Windows PC is required.

We provide instructions explaining how to transfer the Custom Tune to your SCT X4.

Stock File and Return to Stock

During the initial programming process on a Mustang 2005–2014, the SCT X4 reads the calibration currently installed in the ECU and saves it as the Stock File. This allows the vehicle to be returned to exactly the software calibration that was present before programming.

• Ford Mustang GT 5.0 V8 2011–2014 – 98 RON only

Older SCT Flashers

Our current Custom Tunes are intended for use with the SCT X4. SCT X3 and older device generations are no longer supported by the manufacturer. Current software updates and regular technical or recovery support are therefore no longer available for these devices.

For this reason, we cannot guarantee that a newly created Custom Tune can be correctly transferred to and used with an SCT X3 or older SCT Flasher. If you wish to use an older device, please contact us before ordering.
