Already own an SCT X4 Programmer? You can order an individually calibrated Schropp Custom Tune for your vehicle without purchasing another programmer. The Custom Tune is created specifically for your vehicle configuration and supplied by email. It can be transferred to your existing SCT X4 using the SCT Device Updater and then programmed to the vehicle through the OBD-II port. Please note: This product includes the individually created Schropp Custom Tune only. An SCT X4 Programmer is not included. Before ordering: check the status of your SCT X4 If your SCT X4 is currently unmarried and not linked to a vehicle, we recommend updating the device once before ordering. This allows the required device and vehicle definitions to be brought up to date before we create your Custom Tune. If your SCT X4 is still linked to another vehicle and therefore married, the device must first be unlocked. In this case, please order our SCT X4 Unlock Service before ordering the Custom Tune. Important: Once the Schropp Custom Tune has been loaded and the X4 has been linked to your vehicle, unnecessary device updates should be avoided. Updates do not modify or improve the Custom Tune and may potentially cause issues with stored tune files, the stock file or vehicle recognition. Schropp Custom Tune Our Custom Tunes are intended for vehicles in standard configuration and vehicles with typical basic modifications such as an upgraded air filter. The calibration is designed to provide improved throttle response and optimised power delivery. On automatic vehicles, transmission behaviour can also be incorporated into the calibration where supported by the vehicle's ECU strategy. For extensively modified engines or configurations that differ significantly from standard specification, please contact us before ordering so that we can confirm whether the required calibration can be covered by this product. Information required Please use the “Vehicle Info” menu on your SCT device and provide the following information: Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) ECU Strategy SCT device serial number Any engine-related modifications Required fuel grade: 95 or 98 octane Rear tyre size Modified final drive ratio, if applicable Using this information, we create the appropriate Schropp Custom Tune and send the tune file to you by email. Transferring the Custom Tune to your SCT X4 The free SCT Device Updater is required to transfer the Custom Tune to the SCT X4. The software is Windows-only, so a Windows laptop or PC is required. We provide German-language instructions explaining how to transfer the Schropp Custom Tune to your SCT X4. Older SCT programmers Our current Custom Tunes are intended for use with the SCT X4. SCT X3 and older generations are no longer supported by the manufacturer. Current software updates and regular technical or recovery support are therefore no longer available for these devices. We cannot guarantee that a newly created Custom Tune can be successfully transferred to and used with an SCT X3 or older SCT programmer. The SCT Chip with an individual Schropp Custom Tune provides vehicle-specific engine calibration for the 1994–1995 Ford Mustang 5.0 V8. The Custom Tune is created specifically for vehicles in standard configuration or with typical basic modifications such as an upgraded air filter. The calibration is designed to provide improved throttle response and optimised power delivery. Schropp Custom Tune The SCT Chip technically provides multiple selectable positions. With this product, however, we create and program one individual Schropp Custom Tune. Only one position on the chip is therefore programmed with a tune. Switching between different calibrations is not intended with this version. The switch cable shown in some SCT product images is therefore not required and is not included. The SCT X4 Programmer with an individual Schropp Custom Tune allows the ECU of the 1996–2004 Ford Mustang to be calibrated through the vehicle's OBD-II port. In addition to programming the vehicle, the X4 provides useful diagnostic and data-logging functions that remain available after the Custom Tune has been installed. The Schropp Custom Tune is created to suit the individual vehicle configuration. On vehicles with an automatic transmission, transmission behaviour can also be incorporated into the calibration where supported by the vehicle's ECU strategy. Schropp Custom Tune Our Custom Tunes are intended for vehicles in standard configuration and vehicles with typical basic modifications such as an upgraded air filter. For extensively modified engines or configurations that differ significantly from standard specification, please contact us before ordering so that we can confirm whether the required calibration can be covered by this product. Return to stock – original calibration is stored During the initial programming process, the SCT X4 reads the vehicle's original calibration and stores the stock file on the device. This allows the vehicle to be returned to its original software calibration when required. Diagnostics and live vehicle data The SCT X4 can also be used as a useful diagnostic tool independently of the actual programming process: Read and clear diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), for example when the check-engine light is illuminated Display supported engine and ECU parameters live on the colour display Data-log supported vehicle parameters for later analysis Data logging in combination with a Windows laptop No SCT preloaded tunes The SCT preloaded tunes are disabled by us. These generic SCT calibrations are not intended for the European market or the respective European vehicle configuration and are therefore not approved by us for use. This also prevents a generic SCT tune from accidentally being programmed to the vehicle instead of the individually created Schropp Custom Tune. Important – do not update the SCT X4: The device is supplied by us with the software version required for the application. Updating the X4 afterwards is not necessary and should not be performed. An update does not improve the Schropp Custom Tune or its functionality. Unnecessary updates may, however, cause issues with stored Custom Tunes, the stock file or recognition of a device that is already married to the vehicle. Custom Tune and vehicle information To create the individual calibration, we require the vehicle's VIN and ECU Strategy together with information about the vehicle configuration. The VIN and ECU Strategy can be read through the SCT X4's “Vehicle Info” menu. We also require the following information: Any engine-related modifications Required fuel grade: 95 or 98 octane Rear tyre size Modified final drive ratio, if applicable If the required vehicle information is available before shipping, we can store the Custom Tune directly on the X4. If the calibration needs to be created afterwards using the ECU Strategy read from the vehicle, the Custom Tune will be supplied by email.
