The Roush Cold Air Intake 422086 for the 2018–2023 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 V8 is a complete performance intake system replacing the factory airbox.
At Schropp, the original Roush intake system is supplied with a vehicle-specific test report for approval as part of the Schropp SF500 configuration. This combines the Roush hardware with our tested and documented approval solution for European-spec Mustang GT models.
Roush Cold Air Intake for the Mustang GT
The Roush intake system was developed specifically for the Mustang GT 5.0 V8 and replaces the factory intake with a performance intake system and Roush air filter.

Compatible with the factory ECU calibration
One major advantage of this Roush intake system is that it can initially be used without modifying the factory ECU calibration. A restrictor is installed in the MAF tube to provide the appropriate cross-section for operation with the factory engine calibration.
This allows you to install and use the Roush Cold Air Intake with the factory ECU calibration – an SCT programmer or Custom Tune is not required for this configuration.
Important:
When using the factory ECU calibration, the restrictor in the MAF tube must remain installed. If the restrictor is removed, an appropriately calibrated engine tune is required.
Upgrade to the SF500 Power Package later
Want more performance later? The Roush intake system provides the ideal basis for a future upgrade. The restrictor can be removed and the intake can then be combined with an SCT X4 and the appropriate Schropp Custom Tune.
This allows the existing Roush intake system to be upgraded to the corresponding Schropp SF500 performance package without having to purchase another intake system.
Approval documentation for the corresponding SF500 performance upgrade is also available as part of the appropriate Schropp configuration. The matching programmer, individual Custom Tune and approval documentation are available separately from us.
With Schropp SF500 approval documentation
The Roush intake system is supplied with a vehicle-specific test report for inspection according to §19(2) / §21 StVZO. The inspection is carried out by inspection engineers of an officially recognised inspection organisation.
Important information regarding registration:
The hardware is the original Roush Cold Air Intake 422086. Approval, however, is based on our tested Schropp SF500 configuration. The intake system is therefore documented during the approval process as part of the Schropp SF500 configuration.
